I've Finally Lost it!

Well folks, that’s it! Following the slow deterioration of mind and body, I’ve finally flipped. Lost it completely. I might as well face facts. It’s all gone. Off to the clouds or the past or wherever it all disappears to. I will stop being in denial or worse, blaming external sources (or being distracted and influenced by others.)

And which incident has brought about this sudden ‘facing reality’ I hear you ask. I had a shower this morning with my glasses still on my face. More worrying was the actual time it took me to realise that the cause of my very VERY blurred view of the shampoo bottle was actually caused by my steamed up glasses. It took me at least a minute before it dawned on me. Sigh.

It’s all downhill from here!

  5. Oh you have a long way to go this is just a minor blond moment. I have done some incredibly stupid things which I cant recount to you as I have the fortunate capacity to forget them!!!

  6. Lo, I did blog about it though, Diane, I think that being able to forget about it is the best answer. Funnily enough, though I forget most things, this incident will no doubt stay stuck in my mind.

  7. Maybe you just didn't have enough coffee before you got in the shower.

  8. Hello! My first visit to your blog and oh, how timely. I've been getting increasingly worried about my failing eyesight, so today I visited the optician. It turns out that my eyesight is fine, I've just had my contact lenses in the wrong eyes! I'm sure you can imagine how stupid I felt. I'm just so glad to read your blog and realise it happens to all of us sometimes.

    I think I'll be back.

  10. Well you did also get the glasses clean as well as yourself, so that's another way to look at it - no pun intended, TG

  11. Thanks for your comments everyone and for making me feel better! I confess that I am now having to wear them to see the computer screen as my near sight has deteriorated recently, and its also a compliment to my optician as my new pair feel so comfortable, I don't realize I am wearing them!

  12. That gave me a Chuckle I don't think you are alone on TG. I have often been looking for my glasses only to find them on top of my head. Take care Sheila.

  13. I can't even use the excuse that I put them on the top of my head Sheila! Might use it though in future.

  15. Ahh! So it has a name does it? Thanks for the tip, I can now ask my consultant if she can get rid of it, or will it go at the end of chemo?
